New York is full of so many sites to see, it can be overwhelming to choose what to see and most importantly choose sites that are worth seeing. I have gathered some places worth visiting, that are a little off the beaten path or more unique then places like Times Square or the Statue of liberty, to help you avoid the crowds and give you a much richer experience in the city. Comment below what your favorite places to visit in the city are!

MOMA And Whitney

New York has a wealth of cultural attractions, including some amazing museums with some world class art. Two of my favorites are MOMA and the Whitney museums. They are the perfect places to spend a cold or rainy afternoon. At the Whitney, they are showing an Andy Warhol retrospective, it is a great time to go because you can see lots of his works all in one place. Plus make sure you take a few good pictures; these museums are very instagramable. MOMA is a great place to see America works of modern art, you can really spend hours in these places.

High Line

Probably on of my favorite places to go to in the city, the High Line is a converted elevated train tracks that is now a park. It winds through the Meat Packing districts and has some amazing architecture like the Zaha Hadid designed apartment building and many galleries. The Whitney Museum is near the end of the highline so after a visit you don’t have to go far. I especially love the parts of the highline where you can see down to the street, it is a great place to snap a picture. Make sure to go earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds.

SOHO

My favorite area of Manhattan, with amazing architecture and very trendy stores, it is great to just roam around this area. You can find many of the larger brand name stores that are on 5th avenue and also some very cool boutiques. Great for discovering new brands and designers. It is just the place to spend a few hours and see what you can find, also a great place to avoid the crowds of some of the more touristy areas of New York City.
