New York becomes such a magical place in the winter months. With the colder weather setting the leaves of Central Park beginning change and the Christmas decorations start to go up. It can be a little overwhelming to plan your trip because there is just so many things to see, so many places to eat and drink at. This week we want to feature different aspects of the New York experience, each one will be carefully curated to make the most out of your trip. Starting with our favorite places to stay in the city.

Hotels

Made Hotel

A cozy escape in such a busy city. I am in love with the design aesthetic of this boutique hotel, the lobby is reminiscent of cozy living room, with reclaimed wood adorning the ceiling and rustic furniture, it will make you feel right at home. It is a place you want to hangout in, with a lively coffee shop in the front and an intimate bar in the back, no matter the time of day there is always a place to hang out. Upstairs there is a secluded patio area reserved for guest, such a rarity in a place like New York. The rooms are similarly cozy yet sophisticated.

The bathroom is important to note, it makes you feel like you are in a spa, the eye-catching hand carved stone sink. The rooms perfectly balance chic modernity with exposed concrete ceilings and warm woods. The bed is incredibly comfortable and is placed right along the window creating a cozy nest. It truly is an experience staying here with every element feeling like it was meticulous throughout. It really makes you want to stay in and hangout at the bar or just in your room, this is so important especially in an overwhelming city like NYC.

With warmer weather there is also a rooftop bar to explore, with amazing views of the city.

Location wise you are right between uptown and downtown making all the tourist sites like the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Central Park very accessible and the trendy downtown shops and restaurants are also very close.

Nolitan Hotel

If this isn’t your first time in New York or you aren’t really into exploring the tourist sites, the Nolitan Hotel is a perfect. Located in the arguably most trendy neighborhood of New York, it is perfectly located and is walkable to all the restaurants and shops you would want. I would recommend going with the corner room, with the huge tub. The floor to ceiling windows and industrial modernist design makes for the perfect minimalist escape in the city. The beds were very soft, and the overall feel of the room is very open and spacious with amazing views of the traditional buildings of downtown. An in-hotel restaurant and lounge area make the lobby a place you would want to hangout. With only 55 perfectly styled rooms this hotel goes beyond larger chain hotels and truly makes you feel like local. If warmer weather rolls in the rooftop sun deck is the perfect place to enjoy some warmer weather and a glass of wine.

The overall feel is luxury without the pretentious vibe, it makes you feel like you are coming home instead of staying at a hotel. I would highly recommend it.
